THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bon Marché Brasserie & Bar Restaurant Review:

This bright, meandering brasserie-cum-market on the ground floor of the Twitter building proffers the professional set a crisp, pampered respite from the sordid hustle of San Francisco’s mid-Market district. Grainy woods, cushy banquettes and immaculate marble belie the whitewashed industrial bones that house this café, raw bar, craft brewery and flower market. Behind warm backlit awnings, executive chef Matt Sieger deftly executes classic brasserie fare from an open kitchen, and courses are conveniently grouped into single-price tiers. The house charcuterie is a rewarding value, and an otherwise neutral watercress soup is helped with a dollop of crème fraîche and smoked trout roe. We preferred the texture-rich sea bass in chorizo oil to the duck confit, which we found a touch dry. Familiar desserts of tart, custard and beignet favor the orchard. A wine list is delineated by region and varietal, but also by character and pairing. Gleaming cocktails are inspired by French films, and the brewery under master cicerone Rich Higgins turns out classic French styles.
