Boston Lobster Restaurant Review:

Strip malls are a way of life in the San Gabriel Valley, home to many of the area’s top restaurants. Boston Lobster has featured Chinese-Vietnamese seafood since 2014. Décor is fairly simple, with white walls, mirrors etched with carp, horses and a mountaintop pagoda, round tables for big groups and mauve booths. Here, a four-pound lobster is considered "small." These dismembered sea beasts are wok-fried with scallions, garlic and jalapeños. If you’re lucky, they’ll even include red roe and plate it on a bed of noodles. Other popular options, prepared in similar fashion, include prawns, Dungeness crab and fish. Clams stir-fried in their shells with basil is another winner. If you must stray from the sea, there’s bo luc lac, aka shaking beef --- cubes of filet mignon tossed with garlic, dressed with lime juice and best dipped in salt. Crunchy greens from the choy family are also good when sautéed with garlic. Cuisine this saucy calls for fried rice. Try the version with shrimp, barbecued pork and scallions. Dessert consists of refreshing orange slices. To drink, order a pot of hot tea.
