Robert Wiedmaier opened this Kentlands location in spring 2015 under a different name; however, despite its new label, management and Wiedmaier’s menu remain the same. At lunch, choose from deviled hen’s eggs with thinly sliced prosciutto and feta cheese, or the hot, cheesy French onion soup. The Tavern burger with smoked mozzarella and tomato jam is first-rate, but the crab cake sandwich had too much filling despite its being served with house-cut fries. More formal entrées midday include shrimp carbonara and St. Louis-style ribs. The dinner selection is far more expansive and takes in grilled steaks and mussels poached in varying flavorful broths (the aforementioned Tavern burger and shrimp carbonara also appear).
