THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bourbon & Barbecue Grill Restaurant Review:
Southern purists who want a sit-down barbecue meal will do right to stop in Bourbon & Barbecue Grill---even if the chef was trained at that Yankee school, the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Cola-marinated ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and barbecued chicken with sides like coleslaw, beans and rice, and corn bread are the showstoppers at Alabama native Cortland Inge’s restaurant. This casual eatery offers a deceptively simple menu offset by hard-to-find (in Seattle, anyway) specials like fried green tomato starters and classics like shrimp and grits. The food goes down easy with a handful of liquors (including, of course, a good list of bourbon), beers and soda. The gumbo is spiced just right, and the pulled pork barbecue carries a sweet-hot flavor, with just enough sauce to moisten the pork without drowning the meat. It is just right with a bite of creamy coleslaw.
