THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Brasserie Zinc Restaurant Review:

Just when you thought you'd never find a place to sit and sketch the street life while sipping your Pernod, along comes Brasserie Zinc. Taking over the former Merchant's spot in the Target Building, this homage to the working class bistro is warm and inviting with sunny yellow walls and dark wood booths. Take your place at the beautiful mirrored bar and enjoy a hard boiled egg. Please, do notice the extravagantly piled oyster bar as you are taken to your table. For the Francophile who really wants to eat, the traditional steak frites are your champions. A tangy and delicious chevre fondue is a wonderful starter, and you'd be smart to follow with the coq au vin. Make sure to visit Brasserie Zinc in the morning for breakfast as the variety of bread options alone will compel you to return. But more likely you'll begin to crave the buttery quiche and bowl-size café au lait for your daily kick-start. Service has been a bit unstable, but quite good at times. The knowledge of the oyster bar staff was above and beyond what we expected. Plans are that Brasserie Zinc will open their front in the summer to sell warm, crusty baguette sandwiches on the street.
