THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bravo Fono Restaurant Review:
An outside wall of glass bricks lends a glow to the dining room, which is further enhanced at night by candlelight, white tablecloths and brightly colored paintings by the restaurateur's daughter. Favorites at lunch are the light salads and the seafood mélange in puff pastry with a sherry sauce. At night, diners opt for the bouillabaisse, braised lamb shank or tender mussels sautéed in a wine-perfumed sauce. The desserts are rich. Bravo Fono's owners had the Paprika Fono Hungarian restaurant in San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square before going to Palo Alto in the '80s. A tip, don't plan on a late dinner Sunday, Bravo Fono closes at 6 p.m. Sundays.
