Breadmen's Restaurant Review:

College students and University of North Carolina alumni of all ages flock to this Chapel Hill institution for sandwiches and hearty breakfasts --- eggs, sausages, country ham, biscuits, waffles, pancakes and french toast --- served all day long. The simply decorated café also offers familiar home-style lunch and supper dishes, such as Brunswick stew, pork barbecue, fried chicken and meatloaf at bargain prices. All are served with a choice of two Southern-style vegetables (including black-eyed peas, fried okra and turnip greens), and cornbread or biscuit. Service is sketchy, and true food enthusiasts may be happier elsewhere, but if you want to sample authentic student life and food, this is the place. Dinner service stops at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday and Sunday, and at 10 p.m. Fridays.
