There’s a hefty dose of girl power behind this contemporary Arts District spot, which has built-in cred thanks to the owners’ stints at Tizi Melloul and Tomboy. Exposed brick, big windows and warm tones give the space a lofty vibe, but the patio is the place to be when the weather is warm. The modern American menu is full of familiar favorites---none of them particularly out-there. From the get-go, we like the fried artichokes with soy-ginger aïoli. And you’ve gotta love a place that serves respectably prepared strip steak with crispy pomme frites or pan-seared chicken atop lemon-caper butter. Daily specials are of note.
