Brooklyn Crab Restaurant Review:

If Maine relocated one of its crab houses or lobster pounds to NYC, this would be it. The three-level Brooklyn Crab offers a low-rent, outdoorsy experience that feels reminiscent of sitting at a New England seafood shanty. That is, until you realize what you’re staring at in the distance is the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. The extensive menu features myriad preparations of crabs that were sourced from Maryland to Boston, plus lots of seafood. Not fond of crabs? The fried clams and peel ‘n’ eat shrimp are acceptable alternatives, and all can be kicked up a notch with one of the bottled hot sauces that perch on the room dividers. As the restaurant takes no reservations, plan on a very long wait to be seated. Spend that time standing at the bar discovering a craft beer, or hovering in the lower “play” area at a picnic table.
