B’s has been around for decades, and most of the waitresses have been, too. Everyone is treated like a regular; we usually take a seat at the bar, put 50 cents in the jukebox for a twangy country song and order a cold beer while we wait for carry-out. You can eat there, but we recommend a picnic instead of the eating in the smoky little diner. The chicken and ribs are always cooked to perfection, with tangy ’cue sauce on the side. The baked beans taste like they’ve cooked with chunks of bacon for days, the tender collard greens for weeks. You can skip the fries because they’re usually cold before it’s time to dig in. The diner serves other home-cooked meals, we just haven’t stayed around to try them...the barbecue always beckons.
