Décor is retro and the service staff straight from your favorite diner (“More coffee, hon?”). But The Buffet at the Golden Nugget is a comfortable eatery where you’ll find a decent selection of popular foods at a reasonable price. And they’re offered as “all you can eat.” The regular menu lists such items as fried chicken, kielbasa with onions and peppers, roast turkey with gravy and stuffing, mashed potatoes, chicken osso buco, fresh fruit and green salads, lots of cold cuts at lunch and a large range of breads if you choose to make a sandwich. Best dessert bet: A frozen yogurt machine will let you create a soft serve sundae. Lunch $16.99 (half price for children); dinner $20.99 ($14.99 for children). The popular Friday Seafood Buffet starts at 11:30 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. ($29.99 adults, $13.49 for children).
