THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bull Taco Restaurant Review:
Greg Lukasiewicz, who ran high-end restaurants in Monrovia and Pasadena, named for daughters Devon and Halie, scaled down in order to gear up the creative Bull Taco chain. He retooled the Restaurant Devon space in Monrovia, so now the dining room includes skateboard decks on two-toned green walls and a sprawling copper-piping chandelier that sprouts from a pressed-tin ceiling. Stuffed birds in flight, mounted butterflies and a deer head are all affixed to a wildlife mural. Order "inauthentic Mexican" food at the counter from an LED menu that stars tacos, burritos and quesadillas, which all arrive in paper boats. Chicken, pork and beef tacos are available, but opt for more creative preparations. LBC costs considerably more than other tacos, but does contain griddled lobster, bacon and chorizo, along with complementary cabbage, sriracha sour cream, crumbled queso fresco, onion and cilantro. Bull Taco has also been known to run specials like lamb and venison. Nachos and tater tots are popular, too, with rivers of molten queso, jalapeños and a choice of meat. To drink, turn to tequila, mezcal or Mexican beer.
