Buzz's Original Steakhouse Restaurant Review:

Directly across the street from Kailua Beach Park sits Buzz's---a tribute to early Hawaiiana design which takes full advantage of Oahu's balmy trade winds. This is one of those spots that locals like and tourists head to thanks to a well-stocked bar manned by good bartenders, a large outdoor lanai for al fresco dining and food better than it needs to be given the cocktails and location. Buzz's famous mai tai is a must-try (you only need one), though the red and white frozen concoction known as a lava flow is equally popular. The service is briskly efficient and friendly. Ask about the catch of the day and the soup of the day. The catch is always fresh and usually offered in three forms: sashimi, fish sandwich and whatever preparation the cook is inclined to that day. We like to order the artichoke surprise as an appetizer---it arrives swimming in a pool of butter and Parmesan and dredging the tender artichoke leaves in this mixture induces a state of bliss. There are also good salads and a variety of sandwiches for lighter appetites. If you are a couple on a romantic night out, you might get to sit at the table where former President & Mrs. Clinton sat on a visit to Hawaii while he was president. There is a plaque noting this special table-for-two.
