Cafe China, New York, NY

Cafe China Restaurant Review

: Cafe China evokes another era and its dining room will transport you to 1930s Shanghai. While an eclectic wine list is available, we suggest opting for a Tsing Tao beer and ordering the fiery pork dumplings in chili oil or the pressed tofu and celery salad to cleanse the palate. Dive back into the heat with beef tendon in chili oil and chungking spicy chicken, drowning in dried peppers. Rice wine soup with sweet rice balls and lotus seed purée is a sweet way to dampen the heat after dinner. Check out the daily lunch special when the price of a handful of dishes drops a few dollars; it also comes with soup and rice.
