Question: What puts the unassuming coffeehouse known as Café de Paris in the same class as the Ritz-Carlton, Biba and the Four Seasons? Answer: This mellow operation on Arlington Street has a sterling view of the Public Garden that is rivaled only by the aforementioned big boys. There may not be a concierge, but there is a healthy selection of coffee, cappuccino, pastries and sandwiches. Back Bay residents sit for hours with mugs and laptops just to enjoy the view. Out-of-towners on the way to guided tours turn a lunch break into a several-hour sojourn. We’d like to think that’s the whole point of a coffeehouse.
