Cafe Gray Deluxe Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Café Gray Deluxe is named after New York City's original Café Gray by chef Gray Kunz, who passed away in March 2020. He is remembered for his global reputation in Hong Kong and Shanghai, as well as his NYC career that included Lespinasse. Ideal for both business and romance, Café Gray Deluxe is one of the island's most versatile eateries. The restaurant attracts guests from The Upper House hotel as well as Hong Kong's designer clad crowd, which comes for cocktails at the panoramic 49th floor lounge. The extraordinary views from the high ceilinged dining room extend over the office buildings and fellow hotels of Admiralty district to Victoria Harbour and across to Kowloon. (Even the restrooms have large windows overlooking the city.)

Food & Drinks: Get the day off to an indulgent start with crispy panettone french toast or enjoy the more restrained fresh fruit juices and homemade granola. Service continues with a well priced prix-fixe lunch, afternoon tea, and a four-course market menu at dinner. Main dishes from the à la carte menu range from grilled sea bass in white wine to braised beef short ribs with polenta and Meaux mustard. For dessert, opt for the floating island with stewed berries and sauce anglaise. The serious wine list includes many producers that use sustainable, organic or biodynamic methods.
