THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Maison Restaurant Review:

Executive chef Ryan Kelly sticks to a French country theme at this intimate Brookside bistro. Before arriving in Kansas City, Kelly worked at Spago Beverly Hills and Star Canyon in Dallas. Here, his executions are as accomplished as his presentations, from country pâté of veal, pork and ham studded with green olives to the seared foie gras paired with cinnamon brioche to a bacon-wrapped, blue cheese-stuffed tenderloin that is obscenely tender. Seared sea scallops are served with fluffy polenta. The Sunday brunch includes an à la carte menu and a buffet that is loaded with salads, pastries, grilled vegetables and miniature sweets. Kelly's wife and business partner, Desiree Stone, keeps track of the wine list, which is not surprisingly full of French vinos.
