Visitors staying on the south side or touring Polihale, Kokee and Waimea Canyon on the west side won't want to miss fueling up at the Camp House Grill, a roadhouse with honest American food and friendly people. One almost gets the feeling, from the loud screen doors and paper juice cups, that one is back at summer camp in the dining lodge. Breakfast is just what the camp counselors ordered: bacon and eggs, omelets, french toast, home fries, fresh juice. They even throw in some unexpected treats like the Camp House breakfast quesadilla. Good grilled burgers and onion rings are the call for lunch; Camp House's barbecue chicken, steaks, fresh fish and pies (try the chocolate macadamia nut) keep the locals returning for dinner. The Camp House serves beer and house wine.
