THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Carino's Northern Italian Caffe Restaurant Review:
Aside from a reliable menu of Northern Italian cuisine, this Carino’s venue offers a nice one-night-a-month special: Moroccan Night. The event comes with a five-course meal, including a choice of couscous, leg of lamb with cumin sauce and other entrées, and even Moroccan cookies for dessert. There are also the requisite belly dancers. And this Carino’s serves lunch daily as well. Appetizers are varied-from escargot in a puff pastry to smoked trout to fried calamari. There are the entrée standards-veal, pasta, seafood, rack of lamb with rosemary and homemade pasta. Pasta stuffed with spinach and cheese, topped with an asparagus sauce and sun-dried tomatoes is a standout, as is snapper Cleopatra, a sautéed red snapper with fennel capers, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and a white wine and lemon sauce. Desserts, also homemade, are extensive, and are displayed close to the entrance, along with an antipasto display, to attract diners’ attention. The good thing about them is that both the antipasti and dessert selections are worthy of your attention once they make it to your table.
