: One of Carmel's originals (it's been around since 1906, and under the most recent owner for more than 25 years), this bakery still turns out some very good pastries. Nibble on a jam-filled thumbprint cookie, dunk a classic Italian biscotti, or lick the sticky stuff from your hands after manhandling a cinnamon-raisin snail. Choose from classic cookies specked with sugar crystals, or Scottish shortbreads cut into chunky buttery rounds. Soft pretzels are popular, too. And there are salads, soups and sandwiches, just in case you don't have a sweet tooth. |
