![]() : This two-level, 27,000-square-foot venue is the largest restaurant without a nightclub in Las Vegas. The décor is highlighted by walls covered with more than 7,500 photos of families, Italian celebrities and scenes from Italy. Dozens of mismatched antique chandeliers hang from the 40-foot ceilings. The gargantuan space is matched with humongous portions, each large enough to feed three to five guests. Case in point is the 32-ounce serving of non-greasy calamari, which has just the right amount of crispness. We also like the portobellos Parmigiana --- it's listed as an appetizer, but can easily be an entrée; eggplant Parmigiana is noted as a side, but nine-inch layers of goodness make it a meal in itself as well. Nearly 20 pasta dishes are offered, such as penne alla vodka and country-style rigatoni. Seafood options are well represented by shrimp fra diavolo, topped with a spicy marinara. Finish with the Titanic sundae, composed of chocolate cake, five scoops of ice cream, pineapples, bananas, strawberries, cookies, hazelnuts and whipped cream. The wine list, just shy of 100 choices, has labels from respected Italian and California wineries. |
