One of the oldest and best Tex-Mex restaurants in metro New Orleans, Casa Garcia has endured because it features a consistent menu, well-crafted margaritas, and a wide open dining room that accommodates families, first-daters and even tourists. Combination platters are huge and colorful and feature traditional favorites, such as enchiladas, burritos and tostadas. Sandwich concepts include a wrap and a classic home-style Mexican torta. Try not to fill up on the warm bean dip served with chips before your meal; it’s absolutely addictive. Desserts range from fried ice cream to classic flan and a chocolate chimichanga. Wines are not a priority, but the restaurant produces the huge aforementioned margaritas in various flavors. Service is unusually friendly and reliable.
