Casa Lupe Restaurant Review:
Casual, family-run Casa Lupe is a comfortable spot that won't challenge (or burn) any taste buds or drain the wallet. Portions are big enough to share, but good enough that you won't want to. Margaritas, served frozen, are first-rate. The most popular offering is the create-your-platter deal, where folks choose from chile rellenos, tamales and the usual suspects to generate their own one-, two- or three-item feasts. Specials, however, are often tastier than the do-it-yourself combo plates. We suggest the fish tacos, served with fresh, properly grilled slices of catfish. The restaurant also has a fine mole sauce --- rich, chocolaty and nutty --- that goes especially well with the chicken enchiladas. Definitely save your appetite for dessert: buñuelos, crispy sweet flour chips served with ice cream, are dreamy. Staff is friendly. Other South Bay locations.
