THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Catch de Fish Restaurant Review:
There’s no denying that this Gramercy Park Thai-seafood eatery boasts one of the silliest restaurant names in New York today (especially when seeing the menu split up in categories like “Catch de Fire”, “Catch de Basil”…you get the idea). But this dozen-table quasi-sleek eatery does do an admirable job of deviating from the usual Thai formula. There’s no pad thai anywhere near the menu. Instead, the seafood-heavy offerings include up to ten types of fish and just as many toppings (which are mix-and-match). The grilled jalapeño sauce goes nicely with the salmon and the spicy butter and sea salt matches well with scallops. Cream of carrot soup is bold and texturally sound and the thin tofu coconut soup will make you wish you had an endless bowl. Affordable menu items are made even more so by the BYOB policy.
