St. Charles Avenue in downtown is New Orleans’ version of Wall Street, with workers in a hurry for that last cup of coffee before the day starts or before boarding the streetcar to go home. Located in a kiosk within the Whitney Building, this CC’s closes at 5 p.m. and has no weekend hours. All CC's offer a good selection of coffees and satisfying pastries and rolls. Bagels are better than you'd expect in these parts, and the brownies are class-A. Long before it got into the café game, CC’s was roasting and selling coffee, and is still the locals’ choice for a jolt of java. Other locations.
