This noisy, colorful hole-in-the-wall, located smack dab in the middle of the Mission, celebrates the small plates of Latin America and the Caribbean. Start with a Spanish-influenced bowl of sautéed mushrooms dressed with shallots, garlic and sherry. Double-fried plantains are hollowed out and stuffed with spicy shrimp. Allow the friendly staff to lure you into one of the two kinds of sangría on hand; both are delicious. Steamed mussels are adorned with ribbons of fennel, coins of chorizo, and a bath of sherry enriched-broth. Don't miss dessert since it is probably a wedge of Mexican chocolate cake.
