THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Charlie's on Leavitt Restaurant Review:

The Charlie in question is Charlie Socher, he of that fine French bistro called Café Matou. In this venture, a small, 48-seat affair, Socher takes a different culinary path, one that weaves its way through contemporary American cuisine with a vengeance. The main menu is sectioned into Small Plates, Big Plates and Today's Specials. Under Small Plates we found a simple yet savory delight the likes of grilled merguez lamb sausage paired with frisée and heirloom tomatoes. Under Big Plates, the Norwegian salmon steak gets a proper grilling and shares the spotlight with a tangy chipotle mayonnaise, avocado and jicama. A cheese plate composed of Pleasant Ridge Farmstead, Capriole Sofia and Nancy's Hudson Valley Camembert was a fitting and proper finale.
