The fresh blue-and-white color scheme of this 70-seat café is a tip-off to the fresh, from-scratch fare served by Charly and Jan Bokatzian at their waterfront spot. This is real food, from the house soups to the crisp salads, some of which have a bit of an Armenian spin. Cracked wheat with fresh herbs, tomatoes and lemon juice, and bulgur pilaf served with many of the entrées hint to the Bokatzian heritage. An especially good main course is the sautéed pickerel garnished with artichoke hearts, capers, lemon juice and white wine as is the shrimp Chaz, sautéed shrimp tossed with garlic, mushrooms, artichokes hearts and pasta. Caesar salad, served with or without grilled chicken, is a house specialty. This modest spot upholds high standards of quality.
