THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chaz Restaurant Review:
We have to confess that one of our favorite chefs is Charles Solomon, who came to our attention at Geordys and then The Heights. Chaz is not as formal as The Heights, Solomons long-closed, excellent restaurant on Sacramento Street. His menu is well-priced and really gets our mouth watering. Look for a napoleon of braised beef shank with carrots and prosciutto or marinated oysters with a cucumber-and-tomato brunoise. We loved the pheasant with chartreuse (a drum-shaped vegetable mélange with cabbage). The roast duck with a potato-pancetta galette couldnt be better. The sautéed red snapper has a crispy skin on an agreeable vegetable sauce. The luscious chocolate cake with real mint ice cream is the perfect finishing note.
