Santa Maria Valley residents flock to chef-owner Rick Manson’s Louisiana-infused restaurant. It’s colorful and upbeat, with a talented staff behind the stoves. We recommend the Louisiana-style crispy catfish, which comes with dirty rice and all the other trappings of a true Creole meal. Skillet-seared Prime steak and jambalaya are two other notable entrées. Start your southern feast with Louisiana fried oysters, served atop sweet potato fries. Most of the menu displays a snappy Cajun influence: Manson calls it "rhythm-and-blues seasoning." Sandwiches and burgers are available at lunch and dinner, as are atypical entrée salads like the fried green tomato salad with green onion dressing. Specials may include light fare such as asparagus and lemon soup with grilled rosemary shrimp, or hearty Creole lamb shanks braised in Cabernet Sauvignon. Whatever you get, definitely try the signature roasted garlic soup. The wine list includes selections from Chef Rick's own proprietary label.
