THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chef Rick's Ultimately Fine Foods Restaurant Review:
Just get over the fact that Chef Rick’s is in an unassuming strip mall, and get ready for some fun flavors from all over the southern U.S. The Deep South is represented by dishes such as a fried green tomato salad and crispy catfish with dirty rice; the Southwest shows up in a smoked turkey burrito and black bean raviolis in a green chile and roasted tomato sauce; and the Southern California influence brings plates like grilled salmon salad and a vegetable hero with grilled eggplant. Don’t miss out on the roasted garlic soup; the black and blue Caesar; or the jambalaya pasta topped with chicken, andouille, and Creole shrimp. This is also a destination stop for over-the-top desserts, like the Jack Daniels chocolate chip pecan pie and strawberry shortcakes made with fruit grown just down the road. As for wine, chef Rick Manson has enjoyed a longtime relationship with the local industry, and that rapport is reflected in the restaurant’s intriguing wine list.
