Even if the endless skyline of Los Angeles is partly blocked by the Pendry West Hollywood’s luxurious residences building, the best tables at Ospero are the ones on the balcony overlooking the grand black and white valet entrance located on the side street. (I much recommend this approach rather than using the Sunset doors.) On the way up to the restaurant, you can amuse yourself with the infinity mirror sculpture adorning the lobby.

Pizzas are the stars at this casual café, as a nod to the original Spago, which opened in 1982 a few blocks away and is where über-chef Wolfgang Puck reinvented pizza with the not-so-usual suspects of pizza toppings (the most famous being smoked salmon). Here, the pies are, of course, baked in a wood oven to add flavors to the crust.

The wood oven is also put to the task to roast the branzino — its crusty skin was paradise. Other entrées include a roasted half Jidori chicken served with Tuscan potatoes in a Calabrian chili sauce. Talking about Italy, the hand-made pastas are not to be missed. Order at least one for the table.

Since it is an all-day menu than can be grab-and-go, you will find sandwiches and salads. If you are on a vegan diet, you may indulge in the wood oven roasted cauliflower or the California asparagus. Pick your favorite for the sweet ending. Enjoy a drink at the full bar.
