Chez Billy Sud Restaurant Review

: Chez Billy Sud is a Georgetown go-to place that has white tablecloths, courteous service, and a small yet comprehensive southern French menu. It also has a busy lunchtime crowd of local lawyers and DC bigwigs who have found the perfect off-the-grid destination for their chatty get-togethers. Keeping the cuisine in mind, you could start off with the rich French onion soup loaded with cheese or perhaps the chicken liver torchon with pecan toast. But as you move on to the main course, it’s hard to pass by the all-American burger, here heaped up with Brie, onion confit, bacon and a fried egg. Of course, you can stay French with your entrée by sticking with the mussels or pan-roasted trout with fennel purée. Desserts are minimal, and the chocolate mousse and crème brûlée are both standouts. Dinners are more comprehensive, and to the entrée choices the chef adds boeuf bourguignon, Mediterranean sea bass and steak frites. You can start with French-focused cocktails and add glasses of wine to end the day happily.
