THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Choptank Restaurant Review:

Named for a river in Maryland, this West Village restaurant is dimly lit and moody, a total transformation from the all white, stark interior of its predecessor, Anita Lo’s Bar Q. As one would expect from the name, Choptank specializes in fish and seafood, specifically that of the Chesapeake area. And so, also as one would expect, there’s plenty of crab on the menu: a creamy crab dip, steamed crab, Jonah crab claws, bacon-littered crab chowder, jumbo lump crab cake. You get the idea. But if you’re crabbed out, there are some other decent options: rock shrimp tacos with cumin-lime slaw are tiny but pack a flavorful punch; clam broth-flavored Chatham cod; and a crispy oyster po’ boy. The wine list has a few affordable options and a lot of expensive but tasty selections as well.
