The Churchill Tavern
Murray Hill's English pub serving hearty, beer-friendly fare.
The Churchill Tavern Restaurant Review:
While The Churchill Tavern offers a first-rate proper roast (on Sundays only, of course), the place is also an easy weeknight destination. Pints are preferred, with a wide variety of beers and stout on tap; the wine list is something of an afterthought. Start with a scotch egg, soft boiled and wrapped in sausage before being breaded and deep fried. Or consider a sausage roll, which is an elevated, large pig in a blanket. If you're a fan of shepherd's pie, you have a few options: classic, beef and Guinness, and "Lou's English Pie of the Day." Fish ‘n’ chips served over "mushy peas" is appropriately British. Dessert brings sticky toffee pudding and ice cream (get both as they go well together) with another pint of stout.
