Clarkston Union Restaurant Review:

Vestiges of the old church that once greeted worshipers remain part of the décor, but folks in the far northern suburbs now come to this address for the comfort food. The interior still sports original stained glass windows and remnants of the altar and nave. Huge wooden tables and church pews beckon crowds of Clarkston professionals to stay a while and partake in eclectic fare that includes hot sandwiches, char-grilled sausages and salads like the Tuna Bella, chargrilled sashimi grade ahi, celery, green olives, red onions, Roma tomatoes, romaine lettuce and the house-made lemon dressing. There's also a variety of tasty burgers. Remember to check out the blackboard for the plowshare plate, a selection of cheeses, cured meats, fruits and vegetables served with bread. We also recommend the lobster mac ‘n’ cheese with jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, scallions and sweet peppers. Desserts include a cupcake sampler and caramel glazed custard.
