THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Club Macanudo Restaurant Review:

When the smoke from the cigar craze clears, this four-story sister of a New York club owned by General Cigar Company, Inc. may expire, but for the moment, it’s caught fire. Mahogany humidors for lease line the first level; a retail shop sells scores of cigar brands and paraphernalia and the top floor has a private party room. The bar and a couple of lounges take up more space than the little dining room, which is done in a tobacco-leaf motif with a huge mural of celebrity puffers past and present. Food almost seems like an afterthought, but the menu is surprisingly ambitious, and lavish salads fare well. So do dishes that dance to a Latin beat like duck escabeche and a Cuban torta of smoked ham and pork loin updated with black bean purée and avocado salsa.
