THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cooker Bar & Grille Restaurant Review:
This restaurant is a modern version of an early-1900s saloon, with brick walls, brick-like floor, high wood-backed booths and new old-fashioned light fixtures hanging over tables. The best appetizer is also very filling, the Savannah spinach and artichoke dip served with tortilla chips and salsa. Among the regional entrées are pot roast (cooked, they say, for eight hours) with mushroom gravy; Hawaiian chicken, grilled with teriyaki sauce and served with grilled pineapple rings; charbroiled salmon; and our favorite, pasta New Orleans, penne pasta with shrimp, chicken and sausage in jambalaya sauce. There are also plenty of salads and sandwiches. The dessert our family shares is the Cooker ice cream pie: chocolate and coffee ice cream mixed with Snickers candy bar chunks, topped with mocha hot fudge, caramel sauce, whipped cream and toasted almonds. Service is enthusiastic, but not obnoxious.
