: Copia’s size will surprise you --- it extends from pedestrian-friendly Washington Avenue all the way to the other side of the block, starting with a modern bar at the entrance, through dining areas to a very large all-seasons patio that makes up the rear half of the restaurant. Another surprise: wines are priced at retail (thanks to the adjacent market) and carry just an $8 corkage fee. At lunch, office workers fill the patio, dining on spicy mango chicken grilled pizza, a sirloin skillet burger or a salad of flash-fried calamari. Dinner leans toward steakhouse fare --- tenderloin, strip loin, rib-eye, surf ‘n’ turf --- rounded out with entrées like lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Later on, couples drift in to share a cheese plate or huge hunk of chocolate cake after an evening out. The cheerful, efficient servers know the menu well (though they sometimes need to check on the availability of wines in the market). |
