The exterior of this freestanding restaurant is as classy as the interior. Its atmosphere is enhanced by tunes that relate to the time period---the '40s---that the restaurant uses as its theme. Then there is the food, which is under the capable hands of chef Giovanni Berruti, who is steeped in the art of Italian cooking. Factor in some sharp and attentive service and the Copper Club turns to pure gold. Dishes we like here are the baked clams, tortellini alla Bruno, spaghetti arrabbiata, veal Joey and spumoni. The high quality of the food and attention to detail makes us like this place a lot, though the wine list could use a few more fine Italian selections.
