Côté Est is a smart French neighborhood bistro from Eastside restaurateurs Claudio and Adria Blotta (Barbrix, All’Acqua), in the former 51 Tavern space on York Boulevard. The lofty wood-beamed dining room has romantic lighting and a long bar, and a patio is out back. The menu from executive chef Alex Ageneau (Petrossian West Hollywood) includes steak tartare with smoked beets, escargot, fried skate wing, duck confit, and cheese and charcuterie. There’s a short, affordable French-California wine list offering selections by the glass and bottle, a dozen craft beers on tap and sophisticated cocktails.
