THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW A PRIVATE EVENT SPACE The Coterie Room Restaurant Review:

Brian McCracken and Dana Tough --- the duo responsible for Tavern Law and The Old Sage (Capitol Hill) and nearby Spur gastropub --- know how to cook with full-throttle flavors and the occasional touch of molecular gastronomy. At this location, a single shimmering crystal chandelier and pressed tin ceilings contrast with large windows and a dark wood interior, while a “living wall” of plants invites comparisons with a conservatory. The menu, with its ever-changing line-up of small and large shareable plates, leans toward rich offerings such as steak tartare and a smoked cheddar and mac. Save room for the cinnamon fritters topped with caramel apple sauce or the chocolate tart. The wine list is well chosen but pricey, although on Sunday bottles above $50 are half price. At brunch, don't miss the breakfast poutine, a concoction of fries topped with country gravy and a fried egg.
