In an off-the-beaten-path mini-mall is this casual café that is sunny by day and has a moodier atmosphere in the evening. The approachable and affordable menu offers five salads, including a classic frisée aux lardons, in addition to crêpes and decadent quesadillas, like one that comes stuffed with duck confit, Gruyère and crème fraîche. There is an array of baguette sandwiches, plus a burger, and a Merguez or chicken sandwich. Which brings us to the chicken---what arrives is half of a perfectly juicy and flavorful rotisserie chicken with either mashed potatoes or frites. Those in the mood for pasta can take their pick of seven different sauces available on five different noodles. Potrero Hill residents fill the tables, some with their kids, others out for an inexpensive dinner on a night when they don't want to cook. The music is eclectic and energetic, the flat-screen TV shows French films and sporting events on special game days, and the outdoor seating beckons on a sunny day.
