THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cowtippers Restaurant Review:
Cowtippers is a Texas-style beer-hall kind of place. If you’re a fan of “falling off the bone” barbecue, you’re in luck, because that describes these oven-cooked ribs, which get flavor from a thick, sweet sauce. The accompanying slaw, while crisp, sports absolutely no seasoning. Burgers and steaks are the menu’s main draws, but guests will also find chicken and salads. Half-pound char-grilled hamburgers on a soft homemade bun are juicy and cooked to order. Beer and wine are served, but little is outstanding. What does bang a bell, however, is dessert. The coconut cake, from owner Metrotainment’s bakery, is a four-layer humdinger worth every nickel of its $6 price tag. Good weather means a large crowd on the patio, and Cowtippers is handy for grabbing lunch before visiting the nearby Atlanta Botanical Garden.
