Cracking Crab Restaurant Review:
Step into this large, bright, nautically themed place on Montrose’s main drag and the first thing you’ll see is an eight-foot lighthouse by the front door. Order a saké and nibble on some fried calamari as you select from shrimp, lobster, crawfish, mussels, clams and the legs of Dungeness, snow and king crab. Then choose from the sauces, which include Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper and the Cracking Crab mix --- a combination of all the others, in the heat level you want. Don your plastic bib (yes, they’re still around) and set about snipping and digging your way into your meal. Round it out with corn on the cob, whole potatoes and sausages. For those who’d rather not get elbow-deep into their food, the menu features a fried section, ranging from baskets of catfish, popcorn lobster, shrimp and chicken tenders, to gumbo, sweet potato fries and oysters, both fried and on the half shell.
