Crown Colony Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This is the premier restaurant at the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay theme park, home to many wild animals roaming on a simulated African veldt. The Crown Colony has a classic English-style African hunting club ambience. The best seats are along the windows of the half-moon-shaped main dining room where you can watch zebra, giraffes, ostriches and other grazing animals along with a variety of birds. While the menu is limited, the offerings are well prepared, with chicken salad and a seafood platter among the choices, along with sandwiches (such as Chicken Cordon Bleu) and pizza. The most popular items are the family-style dinners, either fried chicken or fried fish, served with heaping portions of coleslaw, rolls, potatoes and other vegetables. But there are other à la carte choices, too, such as New York strip steak, a salmon platter and a vegetarian platter. Fresh-baked desserts may end the meal.
