Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen Restaurant Review:

The original Cyclone Anaya's was opened in the 1960s by a Mexican professional wrestler who fought under the name Cyclone Anaya. It closed, but his children reopened it near Washington Avenue in a contemporary metal building with a cozy outdoor patio. It has always been known for its mean margaritas and Mama Carolina’s homemade Tex-Mex recipes: beef enchiladas with certified Black Angus never fail to delight, and the Mexican chopped salad is a favorite. Chile con queso comes with either taco meat or --- in an interesting twist --- spinach. We also like the flaky, roasted duck empanadas, and we never pass up the fried avocado stuffed with Negra Modelo beer-battered crab. A full bar is available, as are a few good wines. Sunday brunch presents lots of egg and Mexican sausage dishes and even pancakes served with maple syrup, apple wood-smoked bacon and seasonal fruit.
