Deanie's Seafood Restaurant Review:

For decades, Deanie’s was the go-to destination near Lake Pontchartrain for fried seafood. When the French Quarter location opened, locals were skeptical. Much to their surprise, the sprawling atmosphere is festive and inviting, and the food mirrors everything about the original outpost. Deanie’s is a haven for fried oysters, shrimp and crab. They all impart the same flavors, but that’s the Deanie’s style. Replete with familiarity, dishes include po' boys, platters and salads decked with still more fried seafood. Finish off your meal with a coconut custard pudding or a nectar soda float with vanilla ice cream. The restaurant seems to attract a good balance of tourists and French Quarter residents, and where else does the server approach the table with a bowl of hot, spicy boiled potatoes, even before you order your drink?
