• The team at Jean-Georges Beverly Hills is bringing you “Sip & Savor,” a monthly dinner series. Each month, a winery and purveyors are selected to create a 6-course seasonally driven wine paired menu.

The elegant wines of Newton, a Napa Valley winery founded in 1977 by Peter Newton, and now in the hands of the luxury LVMH consortium, were the ones guests got to sip at the December dinner. Newton produces unfiltered wines with sustainable practices.

A few months ago, executive chef Steve Benjamin made a bread discovery, and fell in love with the flour of artisan baker brothers Alexandre and Romain Lecat of Sweet Wheat. Operating from Redondo Beach, CA, their breads are now the ones offered at Jean-Georges Beverly Hills and the Waldorf Astoria. They are so delicious that my guest, who very rarely eats bread, made the difficult exercise of balancing his dinner between the actual dishes and the bread with the one and only Brittany Bordier butter — I think he is still mad at me for bringing him along to this b & b trap.

An evening of discoveries. To the next one!
