Delancey Restaurant Review:
Delancey's pizzas, turned out by Brandon Pettit, entice with tender, chewy crusts; light sauces; and quality ingredients not often found on pies. Fresh garden garlic scapes crown pizzas in the spring, while kale pies fly from the oven in autumn. A favorite is the deceptively simple combination of crimini mushrooms, thyme-infused olive oil and house-made pork-fennel sausage. Other inspired topping pairings range from delicate prosciutto to spicy salami with hot peppers. For dessert, indulge in a bittersweet chocolate chip cookie sprinkled with gray salt (available baked or as raw dough). Like the food, Delancey's décor is understated: white walls, cement floors and a dusting of rustic charm. Expect to wait for seating even during the week, since reservations are only accepted for parties of six or more.
